The seemingly happy go lucky son of Niklaus Venture, Ulrich is outwardly a very carefree individual, but is in fact plagued with many fears, most of which have to do with his status as Mistborn. A gift many would kill for, and he wishes he did not have it, terrified that he will end up like his cousin Phyra, gone mad with power and summarily killed after she went on a rampage. He is so used to being happy to try and cheer up his father he does not know how to be anything but, and isn't sure now if that part of him is real or just an act he created to try and make his father happy again. Wearing a mask day and night is tiring, and it may be that his is beginning to crack as the fears and pressure mount. Will he become a monster, as he fears, or is he going to be the shining Mistborn hero he thought he'd be when he first Snapped? Only time will tell.
