The Lord Ruler's perfect capital city, Luthadel, is doing the impossible: rebelling. Skaa half-breeds are being taught the power of Allomancy, something that the Lord Ruler's obligators said only existed in the nobility. The enslaved skaa, with their murderous benefactor, now fight back against a living god's oppression.

So, the Inquisition was formed. The nobles begin to fear assassination from all sides. The times of nobility Mistborn killing each other are over. The Steel Inquisitors look for aristocrat traitors and insurgent skaa, and the skaa try with all their strength to merely survive. The Lord Ruler's perfect Final Empire is slowly devolving into chaos.

Inquisition Notes

Ascension Date: 843
Allomancy: A
Integrity: A

Inquisiton's notes: Venture is the most powerful house in the Final Empire for a reason. It mixes caution with risk in a quite effective way, and many of its businesses have excelled for exactly this reason. I must grudgingly agree that Ellsworth has ran Venture well, though he is not a person I would ever place trust in.

The house is shrewd and versatile. It successfully betrayed the Sureau Coalition twenty-five years ago. That attack ultimately led to Sureau's fall in rank, and Venture's rise. They had acquired a critical contract from the Lord Ruler which brought it considerable prosperity. Due to its importance to House Venture and to the Ministry, I refuse to speak of it.

Since that attack, Venture has dominated, and though they have allies, they had no Great Houses on their side. I am, frankly, astonished they have survived in this political climate. However, of paramount importance is the overtures of peace between Deveaux and Venture. Why idiot Ellsworth would trust Deveaux is beyond even the Lord Ruler's gaze, but he must think he is making a masterful stroke.

Due to Venture's wealth, Allomantic reserve, cunning, and a possible Venture-Deveaux alliance, I assess a Danger Rating of A. Take great care in harming them, but proceed quickly.

Home & Wealth
Current Location: Luthadel
Ancestral Home: Urteau, Northern Dominance
Financial Avenue: House Venture secretly oversees the mining of the Lord Ruler's Atium at the Pits of Hathshin, though they maintain a few trade contracts as well.

Diplomacy

-Elariel – [Negative] – It isn't always easy to make the Elariels break their policy of neutrality, but Phyra Venture's murder of Mikhail Elariel was enough. The only reason the Ventures prevented outright war was by presenting Phyra's head to the Elariels.
-Deveaux – [Ally] – Technically a tentative alliance at this point, these two houses are working to move past the difficulties between them 25 years ago and stand together. Much of this alliance hinges on the potential marriage of the Venture heir, Nevan, to Camille Deveaux.
-Sureau – [Enemy] It was Venture who attacked the Sureaus 25 years ago, toppling them from the top of the hierarchy and winning the Pits of Hathsin contract in the process.
-Hasting – [Enemy] As inseparable allies with Sureau, Hasting is a natural enemy of Venture as well. Venture's contracting with Hasting's trade rival, Casuana, doesn't help matters much.
-Tekiel – [Negative] While Tekiel is a member of the Sureau Coalition, they exist on the fringe, making relations between them and Venture more workable. Slightly.
-Lekal – [Negative] Lekal, as a former member of the Sureau Coalition, was once an enemy of Venture. Tempers between these two houses have begun to cool since Lekal successfully left that alliance some years ago.
-Casuana – [Ally] Technically a tentative alliance. Despite Casuana's breach of contract with Venture, Venture is willing to work to maintain good relations for the sake of fostering their key alliance with Deveaux.
-Raisaal – [Positive] Good business dealings between these houses have led to a positive relationship.
-Fathvell – [Neutral] Venture sees Fathvell as nothing more than a puppet for Sureau, and so has no real reason to care about them one way or another at the moment. Fathvell, at their current level of power, is content to let sleeping dogs lie.

-Ollivier – [Ally] This moderately successful Luthadel House has been a standing ally with Venture for years thanks to their financial partnership.
-Renault – [Ally] Members of House Renault have served faithfully as attendants to the Ventures for years, and many of Venture's most loyal guards are from Renault. Meanwhile, Venture's political power has kept Renault well-protected in their years of service.
-Vautier – [Ally] Vautier and Venture's good financial relationship has grown into a minor political alliance over the years.
-Vaudin – [Friendly]
-Domaille – [Friendly]
-Damerell – [Friendly]
-Duchemin – [Friendly]
-Martel – [Unfriendly] Venture's exclusive contract with Deveaux has caused a point of contention with Martel, one of few competitors left in the Northern Dominance metals market.

Contracts
The Lord Ruler/The Steel Ministry: House Venture receives the majority of its wealth from mining Atium at the Pits of Hathshin.
House Tresting: House Tresting sells the crops grown on their plantation in Central Dominance to House Venture.
House Deveaux: Venture buys metals for use by their Allomancers exclusively from Deveaux at a discounted price, paving the way for negotiations of a political alliance.
House Ollivier: Much of Venture's trade operates along Ollivier shipping routes.
House Renault: Venture pays Renault well for its services; they are practically a vassal House to Venture now.
House Vautier: Venture purchases much of its jewelry and other accessories from Vautier jewelry merchants.
House Casuana (Breached Contract): Venture had a contract established with Casuana for a large quantity of weapons and armor, but Casuana significantly lessened the amount to be purchased by Venture in favor of an expanded Ministry contract.
