Name: Grunt
Gender: Male
Pertinent Info: Smoker. Quiet guy, opts to respond with guttural noises when possible. Second eldest and senior member of the Black Arm Crew, and the only surviving member of the original crew other than Jonesi. In the workshop he serves as the primary Smoker for lookout posts, and his 'day' job is a soldering specialist (he can get solder to run against gravity, and yes it is possible with their available technology).
Name: Grin (Chips)
Gender: Male
Pertinent Info: The Master Carpenter, charmer and fast-talker, although he is in his late forties now. The younger fraternal twin brother of Grim. Has functional literacy and works as the mentor of Chap for his 'day' job. For the past fifteen years has gone by the name Chips.
Name: Grim (Flint)
Gender: Male
Pertinent Info: The Contortionist Assassin. His 'day' job is a plumber on the night shift. Older fraternal brother to Grin, and to his shame smaller in stature. Similar demeanor to Grunt, but far more pessimistic and a darker sense of humor and sarcasm. Has one apprentice with potential for adoption. For the past fifteen years has gone by the name Flint.
Name: Aunt Bay
Gender: Female
Pertinent Info: The Accountant Fence. She is one of three characters that serves a Dockson-like role in managing logistics and finances of the Black Arm Crew, and is thus fully literate. She specializes in fencing and acquisitions. She is also the lead matron character for most things, she is in her early forties.
Name: Hans
Gender: Male
Pertinent Info: The Master Mason and Tinker. Hans understands how things work mechanically. He looks at stone and knows where he needs to strike and with how much force to make it break how he wants. He understands his materials and tools beyond surface comprehension, understanding strengths, weaknesses, limitations, and ultimately everything working together as a unit. He enjoys tinkering to test and play with new tools and materials. He is in his late thirties.
Other affiliated NPCs in the workshop:
Name: Miss Carrie
Gender: Female
Pertinent Info: The Metallurgist. Miss Carrie was born to a noble family, a small-time allomantic smelter, was sabotaged and nearly-wiped out in the back-lash by their clients for tainted metals. At that time she was fifteen, and street savvy enough to know her prospects. With her younger sister in tow, and nearly destitute she came to Jonesi hoping to use his services to escape her family's debts. He faked her death, and in the time she spent laying low had grown to love a younger version of Hans. Her younger sister witnessed her 'death' and left traumatized by the loss of her entire family. The younger sister joined Lady Sarah Meson's retinue and has taken the name Chastity. By Miss Shelly's choice, her new identity identifies her as a skaa, and she is secretly married to Hans. She has one natural born daughter, and three adopted children. She is in her mid-thirties.
Name: Chap
Gender: Male
Pertinent Info: Journeymen Carpenter. Highly sensitive to other people's emotions. He uses his understanding of a person's emotional state to figure out how best to please them or make them laugh. He purposely makes himself the 'butt end' of the jokes he makes. A master of situational and physical humor. He is being subtly trained by Grin/Chips. He is in his late twenties. He has a romance plot with Thoughful Spurts character Lau, so I'll move him to character adoptions later
Name: Greyler
Gender: Male
Pertinent Info: Spatial Savant. Greyler is autistic and as such is not very well socially integrated, and it certainly doesn't help that he refuses to leave the sewers. There are moments where he seems perfectly normal, but that illusion dissipates seconds later as he curls and rocks back and forth or avoids eye contact awkwardly or starts screaming and spasming without any perceptibly logical reasoning, revealing that something is not quite right. What he is great at is identifying structural weaknesses and stress points, and seeing the most probably line of causation. He might be anywhere from twenty to thirty years old.
I will post more, and some of these probably will need editing as this is early in the morning when I am posting. These are not permanent, but serve to potentially add more depth to the Meson Workshop and the Black Arm Crew. There are the newer members and those without as much experience. Right now I'm listing the most exemplary members of the workshop that I don't have PC applications for yet. There are roughly one hundred skaa working at the Meson Workshop, and nearly all of them will be pulled into the reactivation of the Black Arm Crew for one task or another.
If I get the time I'll write out a rough history of the Black Arm Crew, and why they went inactive fifteen years ago, and most of the members changed their names, there are others than Grin and Grim (like Popper and Flagon).
