The Lord Ruler's perfect capital city, Luthadel, is doing the impossible: rebelling. Skaa half-breeds are being taught the power of Allomancy, something that the Lord Ruler's obligators said only existed in the nobility. The enslaved skaa, with their murderous benefactor, now fight back against a living god's oppression.

So, the Inquisition was formed. The nobles begin to fear assassination from all sides. The times of nobility Mistborn killing each other are over. The Steel Inquisitors look for aristocrat traitors and insurgent skaa, and the skaa try with all their strength to merely survive. The Lord Ruler's perfect Final Empire is slowly devolving into chaos.

With sandy colored hair, and light brown eyes, Kler is a lot like many other skaa in Luthadel. He is average height and weight. The only striking feature he has is that his eyes are always lit up and excited.

Very curious, Kler is always wondering about one thing or another. He doesn't always think through what he says though, just blurting out whatever is on his mind. He is always eager to help and is very naive. He is jumpy and gets scared easily, but is very loyal and will help his friends with anything.

Special Skills: Thinking, working, helping

Strengths: Kler is a hard worker and is very loyal. He is not strong at fighting but is a decent size and is pretty strong and can hold his own in a fight.

Weaknesses: Kler is always blurting out things at inappropriate times, which has caused him a lot of trouble over the years. He also annoys people with all the questions he asks.

Kler was born in 900 to an accomplished tailor. He is the third and youngest son of a family of all boys. He was never remarkable to his father because he ticked him off with all his questions and though he tried hard, Kler was never good at being a tailor, he is not one for fine details but likes to hammer and do more powerful work. Both his father and mother were getting old and are certainly not young. His mother died a year ago and Kler was very sad, his mother loved her baby son and was the only one, besides his oldest brother who treated him kindly. Kler, that night, was walking along the streets and was not paying any attention, just thinking about his mother, when a drunk minor noble drove his carriage right over Kler, which broke a few bones and bruised him up badly. that was when Kler Snapped. Kler never got along with his second brother because his brother always thought Kler was an imbecile. his oldest brother was always kind and sticking up for Kler in front of their father and other brother. he rarely was angry with Kler, taking much after his mother. Kler is the last of his brothers to move out, and his father began to believe it would never happen, he finally got involved with the rebellion and they offered him a position working in Darnam's shop. He only met the rebellion recently and is very inexperienced.

" He is not strong at fighting but is a decent size and is pretty strong and can hold his own in a fight."

Seemed contradictory to me.

"Both his father and mother were getting old and are certainly not young."

Grammar

"His mother died a year ago and Kler was very sad, his mother loved her baby son and was the only one, besides his oldest brother who treated him kindly"

This sentence was weird for a couple reasons. First, the grammar is kinda off. Read it aloud and see what you think. Additionally, the antecedents were kinda odd. The second comma seems iffy to me.
Ideas: How sad was he? How did she die? How did this effect Kler? Does his brother treat him kindly?- I got confused at that part.

"a drunk minor noble drove his carriage right over Kler"

Nobles don't typically drive their own carriages. Maybe the driver was drunk? Maybe the horses got spooked by Kler or something else?

Ideas & Questions:

At the beginning of the history, perhaps explain the family? From what I could piece together, there are 3 brothers? The eldest is like the mom and likes Kler, (Why?) the second doesn't like Kler, (Why? you say he thinks he's an imbecile, but why?) and the there is Kler?

Why doesn't the dad like Kler? Why does the mom like Kler? Does this provide for conflict between the parents?

How/where/why does Kler get healed from his wounds? Is there residual damage/effects from his injury?

Why does the father think Kler will never move out?

You say that the oldest brother sticks up for Kler, but you don't say what he stops from happening. Does the father beat Kler? Does the second brother beat Kler? Do they mock him? What does the eldest brother do to stop whatever it is they do?

How does Kler come in contact with the rebellion? Who teaches him about allomancy? Why would a cobbler hire a tailor?

What happened to the rest of his family?

Tips:

I'd name the family characters for clarity.

Break up the history into paragraphs to make it easier to read. Perhaps by phases in Kler's life?

More strengths and weaknesses! :) What is he good at? Is he smart? Is he slower mentally? Is that why he asks questions? Or is he just curious about everything? Is he afraid of anything? The dark? Horses? Carriages? Drunkards? What is he good at? Is he good with his hands- making things?

Hope this is helpful. These are all suggestions and not requests. I am by no means an admin, but these are just some ideas/questions/thoughts that occurred to me while reading.

Characters:

Blaise Raisaal: Noble Lurcher Savant

Kler was born in 900 to an accomplished tailor. Rett, his father is a slim but tall man. He is very hardworking but impatient. Prion, Kler's mother was heavier for a skaa and very even tempered and mild. He is the third and youngest son of a family of all boys. His oldest brother, Kion, is about five years older than Kler and always looked out for him because he felt bad for the way he was treated. Kert, the middle brother takes after their father, Rett. He doesn't like Kler because sometimes siblings are just like that and he is a impatient person who can't stand Kler's distracting questions. Kler was never remarkable to his father because he ticked him off with all his questions and though he tried hard, Kler was never good at being a tailor, he is not one for fine details but likes to hammer and do more powerful work. His mother and father argued many times over him, his father always wanting to beat some sense into him, but his mother calmly replying that he would hurt him too much to work. His mother usually won.

Both his father and mother are getting old. His mother died a year ago from a deadly illness and Kler was very sad. His mother had loved her baby son and was the only one in his family, excepting his oldest brother, Kion, who treated him kindly. Kler, the night his mother died, was walking along the streets and was not paying any attention, just thinking about his mother, when a minor noble's driver was drunk and drove his carriage right over Kler, which broke multiple bones, including a shin, several ribs, and his left arm, and bruised him up badly. That was when Kler Snapped. Rett was wealthy enough to afford a good enough doctor to mend Kler's bones but it took many months and Kler is now going back to work. This injury made Kert more frustrated at him because he always had to bring Kler his food and more.

Kler never got along with his second brother because his brother always thought Kler was an imbecile. Kion was always kind and sticking up for Kler in front of their father and other brother, not letting them beat him or he would stop Kert's mocking. Kion rarely was angry with Kler, taking much after his mother. Kler is the last of his brothers to move out, and his father began to believe it would never happen, because Kler is somewhat clumsy because of his wide figure, and not good with tailoring. He finally got involved with the rebellion and they offered him a position working in Darnam's shop. He only met the rebellion recently and is very inexperienced.

I meant that he isn't great at fighting, but as he is well-fed and a wide build, he can beat smaller people somewhat easily. He is decent at it.

I clarified that. Is it better?

This is something I am talking to KChan about, we might RP his recruitment. If not, I will make sure to clarify this a lot more. The rebellion is the one who discovers and reveals his Allomancy to him. He is mostly hired to be a cover Smoker but as he was never good at tailoring, he is better at making things that require more strength.

What do you think now?

I'm liking him so far, and I also liked that you've broken up the history into paragraphs.

One thing I'd recommend, is try to infuse the history with a little more character. Right now, you tell us, very accurately, exactly how Kler grew up, and have checked off neatly all the important pieces of history. What you don't give us here is how Kler feels about it all, and how those experiences have shaped him as a person. I can infer some of the connections between his personality and history, but it would be nice to see you play with them a little more. It will also give you good practice for fleshing out future characters.

Other than that, I see nothing inherently unacceptable about him, so keep fleshing him out and working on the writing and he'll be ready soon :)

Kler was born in 900 to an accomplished tailor, Rett, his father, is a slim but tall man. He is very hardworking but impatient. Prion, Kler's mother was heavier for a skaa, the daughter of a privileged baker, and very even tempered and mild. He is the third and youngest son of a family of all boys. His oldest brother, Klon, is about five years older than Kler and always looked out for him because he felt bad for the way he was treated. Kurt, the middle brother takes after their father, Rett. Kurt doesn't like Kler because sometimes siblings are annoying and he is a impatient person who can't stand Kler's distracting questions. Kler was never remarkable to his father because he annoyed him with all his questions and though he tried hard, Kler was never good at being a tailor, he is not one for fine details but likes to hammer and do more powerful work. His mother and father argued many times over him, his father always wanting to beat some sense into him, but his mother calmly replying that he would hurt him too much to work. His mother usually won. Kler usually watched the arguments with fascination, thinking that his parents were arguing over who got him. As he matured, he realized that wasn't the case but still loved his father because he can't give up on his family.

Kler loves his family, no matter how they treat him. He would gladly do anything they needed to help. He doesn't care that Kurt doesn't like him, he just thinks that Kurt shows his love differently. He tries his best at tailoring but he is not built for that, physically or mentally. He has the wide frame of his mother's family and is a blunt guy. He isn't meant to spend time in details of little needles and thread.

His father is getting old. His mother died a year ago from a deadly illness and Kler was very sad. His mother had loved her baby son and was the only one in his family, excepting his oldest brother, Klon, who treated him kindly. It also caused his fear of nobles and horses. Rett was wealthy enough to afford a good enough doctor to mend Kler's bones but it took many months and Kler is now going back to work. This injury made Kurt more frustrated with Kler because he always had to bring Kler his food and whatever else he needed. Kler thought that Kurt wouldn't mind so much because he would willingly do that for any of his family.

Kler never got along with his second brother because his brother always thought Kler was an imbecile. Klon was always kind and sticking up for Kler in front of their father and other brother, not letting them beat him or stopping Kurt's mocking. Klon rarely was angry with Kler, taking much after their mother. He is eager to help because after years of experience he doesn't believe that some people should be lucky to get a scrap of bread a week while others feast every meal.

(A scene from this character's viewpoint. Take care in picking a scene. It could be a scene from the past or it could happen practically during current events. In any case, write something important to the character so everyone can truly feel the character)

Kler was thinking about his mother again. Her face. Her smile. Her happiness. He wished she hadn't died. Kler didn't understand why there were diseases like that. Why would The Lord Ruler let those happen? Maybe he just doesn't care. Kler dwelt on those thoughts about his mother. He walked the main streets near his home, just wanting to get out of his house and away from his father.

"Imbecile! Move!" a nobleman's carriage driver yelled to the unsuspecting Kler. He had drifted into traffic. Looking up the road, he realized the horses were right in front of him. He tried to jump off the street. By the time he moved, the horses were already on top of him. He screamed in agony as he was trampled. The driver stopped the horses too late to prevent them from stepping on the skaa. Walking over to Kler, he cursed under his breath.

"What do you think you were doing, skaa boy?"

Kler could smell the alcohol on the driver's breath. "I'm sorry. I didn't see and-"

"Pay more attention! You're going to get us both in trouble," the driver was not happy. They both knew he would get whipped or beat for hitting something.

The driver kicked Kler once for good measure, then walked back to the carriage.

"What's going on out there?" the angry noble yelled.

"N-Nothing, my lord. We hit a bump and I was just checking to make sure the wheels were okay," the driver nervously stated.

Kler wondered if the lord would realize that a bump couldn't hurt the wheels that badly. The driver didn't say anything more about the wheels. He apparently did not know anything about carriages. Lucky for Kler.

I feel like it's still not ready, I'm just not sure what needs to be added or clarified.

I have some feedback! He's looking much better than at first(as the crazy me read all the drafts posted), and a lot of my feedback has already been taken, but I think he's a great character in the making.

Firstly, I see that the personality thing is longer than it was at first, which is awesome, but I want more. Also, as it gets longer, you might want to break it up into more paragraphs, to avoid a big wall of text with no breaks. You might also want to think about arranging it by personality traits. I've found that this makes it easier to focus on a certain thing. More explanation of his personality traits would be awesome. You've got a bunch of small 'he is this and this' type sentences, but you don't go into it. Have fun! Over explain the personality! Yeah!

For the history, again, it's mostly formatting stuff. You go in and out of past tense and present tense, and that makes it a little unclear. So, I think, again, you could arrange it into paragraphs with each one focusing on a different part of his life. Start with his birth and his family, his living situation, etc, then move chronologically through his life. This will help you focus on fleshing out one certain part of his life before moving on to the next part of his life, and I think it helps the growth throughout his life to this point. Then there are some specific things you could answer in the history.

When/why did he decide to join the rebellion? Was it something he's always wanted to do, or was it an impulse decision?

When his mother died, how exactly did it affect him? Obviously he was very sad, but how did it affect his relationship with the rest of his family? Was that when he started thinking about the rebellion? Does it still effect him? How?

And then the appearance. You talk about his build and appearance a lot in his history, but don't go into a lot of detail in the appearance section.

I think I've fixed up those things, tell me if they still need more. About the rebellion, i had talked to KChan and we planned to RP it, it's kindof an impromptu decision, they discovered his Allomancy, and confronted him and asked if he would join. He was glad to find a job other than tailoring.

Kler

Name: None specified. Just make it a believable skaa name.
Age: 17-22
Gender:Doesn't Matter
Powers: Smoker
Role: Smoker for the skaa rebellion, soon-to-be cobbler's apprentice

Other Pertinent Information: This character must have already Snapped and been recruited into the rebellion. However, this should have happened recently, and the character should be inexperienced as both an Allomancer and as a rebellion member. After being accepted, the character will be assigned to work at a safehouse run by the skaa cobbler Darnam, acting as both an apprentice and a Smoker. This assignment will be given in actual RP, so don't include that part in the character's history.

Approve Before Accepting?: No

Character Proposal

Kler

Kler is an 18 year old boy who is the third and youngest child of a skaa tailor who is getting up there in age. His father is ready for him to leave the house and go find his own life as Kler tends to annoy people with all of his questions. He is very naive and eager. He became involved with the rebellion very recently and joined because they had answers to some of his questions, like what is this lump of something in my stomach or why can I feel vibrations when I reach out with that lump? He also joined because, even though he is a skaa, he has lived a more privileged life with his father being an accomplished tailor. He doesn't believe that it is fair that some people get to live lives of luxury and some are lucky to get a scrap of bread a week. Kler thinks a lot and doesn't always filter what he says, so many thoughts come out that should be kept to himself. He gets scared easily and is always eager to help. He will help the rebellion with anything they ask of him.

He doesn't always think through what he says though, he just blurts out whatever is on his mind. He mumbles to himself a lot when working or just thinking, trying to contain this, but needing to vent and think out loud. People that spend a lot of time around him think it's kindof strange.

His mother had loved her baby son and she was the only one in his family, excepting his oldest brother, Klon, who treated him kindly.

Kler's oldest brother, Klon, is about five years older than Kler and always looked out for him because he felt bad for the way he was treated. Klon was always kind and sticking up for Kler in front of their father and other brother, not letting them beat him or stopping Kurt's mocking. Klon rarely was angry with Kler, taking much after their mother.

Kurt, the middle brother takes after their father, Rett. Kurt doesn't like Kler because sometimes siblings are annoying and he is a impatient person who can't stand Kler's distracting questions. Kler never got along with his second brother because his brother always thought Kler was an imbecile.

Kler is the third and youngest son of a family of all boys.

His mother and father argued many times over him, his father always wanting to beat some sense into him, but his mother calmly replying that he would hurt him too much to work. His mother usually won. Kler usually watched the arguments with fascination, thinking that his parents were arguing over who got him. As he matured, he realized that wasn't the case but still loved his father because he doesn't believe in  giving up on family. Kler loves his family, no matter how they treat him. He would gladly do anything they needed to help. He doesn't care that Kurt doesn't like him, he just thinks that Kurt shows his love differently.

Kler was never remarkable to his father because he annoyed him with all his questions and though he tried hard, Kler was never good at being a tailor, he is not one for fine details but likes to hammer and do more blunt work. He tries his best at tailoring but he is not built for that, physically or mentally. He has the wide frame of his mother's family and is a blunt guy. He isn't meant to spend time in details of little needles and thread.

His mother died a year ago from a deadly illness and Kler was very sad, it crushed him emotionally. He wasn't able to do much work for a few days because he would break down too often. That was when the carriage incident happened and put him out of work even longer. He thinks of his mother very often.

Kler, the night after his mother died, was walking along the streets and was not paying any attention, just thinking about his mother, when a minor noble's driver was drunk and drove his carriage right over Kler, which broke multiple bones, including a shin, several ribs, and his left arm, and bruised him up badly. That was when Kler Snapped. It also caused his fear of nobles and horses. Rett was wealthy enough to afford a good enough doctor to mend Kler's bones but it took many months and Kler is now going back to work. This injury made Kurt more frustrated with Kler because he always had to bring Kler his food and whatever else he needed. Kler thought that Kurt wouldn't mind so much because he himself would willingly do that for any of his family.

His father is now getting old. Kler is the last of his brothers to move out, and his father began to believe it would never happen, because Kler is somewhat clumsy because of his wide figure, and not good with tailoring. He finally got involved with the rebellion and they offered him a position working in Darnam's shop. He only met the rebellion recently(as in cycle 1) and is very inexperienced.

Wow. I'm sorry it took so long for me to get back here, because you've done a fantastic job of taking suggestions and creating a stronger character application. I'm not sure how much more editing you are intending to do, but I think this character could be accepted soon.
