The Lord Ruler's perfect capital city, Luthadel, is doing the impossible: rebelling. Skaa half-breeds are being taught the power of Allomancy, something that the Lord Ruler's obligators said only existed in the nobility. The enslaved skaa, with their murderous benefactor, now fight back against a living god's oppression.

So, the Inquisition was formed. The nobles begin to fear assassination from all sides. The times of nobility Mistborn killing each other are over. The Steel Inquisitors look for aristocrat traitors and insurgent skaa, and the skaa try with all their strength to merely survive. The Lord Ruler's perfect Final Empire is slowly devolving into chaos.

[thread under construction]

Hey All,

I'm going to be making this the official thread with all of the resources concerning the Black Arm Crew and their current plot arc/story. I hope that this will help other players come to understand what Jonesi and his 'family' are up to and hopefully get this to be more engaging.

Table of Contents:
The Black Arm Crew - History and Details
The Workshop - Owned by House Meson (Recruiting Skaa)
The Family - Led by Jonesi

Quick disambiguation between the three.

The Black Arm Crew is the historical name of the crew that Jonesi leads. It a thieving crew with no particular specialty and takes all kinds of jobs including wet work (jobs that include killing).

The Workshop refers to the Meson Workshop. It is the base of operations for both The Black Arm Crew and the skaa family that Jonesi leads. It is also used to stage espionage and sabotage against the enemies of House Meson.

The Family is the six branch family that Jonesi is one of the heads of. There is overlap between these family members and the Black Arm Crew, and many other common ties, but their objective is different.

The Black Arm Crew (The members are all at least over 35)
Jonesi - The Black Arm (Lanscaper). The leader. Two goals: further along the Plan given to him by his elders, and get a measure of vengeance on the Inquisition.

Grunt (Smoker) - One of the main Smokers in the workshop. He’s the second oldest person on the Black Arm Crew and has worked with Jonesi the longest, they are the only remaining original members of the Black Arm Crew. He’s quiet, tactiturn, and loyal to Jonesi and their ultimate goal. His real name has been lost and is instead called Grunt in reference to the fact that he rarely uses words and more often than not replies in body gestures or grunts. He’s also one of the people that vets newcomers by spending hours on end with them. He’s currently trying to vet Ema. His dayjob is that of an experienced solderer for the copper pipes, his specialty being repairs as he can get solder to run uphill against gravity.

Grin & Grim (fraternal twin brothers) - Two of the later additions to the Black Arm Crew. One is a fast-talker charmer. The other is the wet-work operative, carries out assassinations. Neither of them are allomancers, and they were part of a different crew previously, Jonesi took them on when they ‘retired’.

Aunt Bay (original name Betty, nicknamed for good Bay wraps) - The Accountant Fence. She is one of three characters that serves a Dockson-like role in managing logistics and finances of the Black Arm Crew, and is thus fully literate. She specializes in fencing and acquisitions. She is also the lead matron character for most things, she is in her early forties.

Hans - (formerly Yoosuk) - The Master Mason and Tinker. Hans understands how things work mechanically. He looks at stone and knows where he needs to strike and with how much force to make it break how he wants. He understands his materials and tools beyond surface comprehension, understanding strengths, weaknesses, limitations, and ultimately everything working together as a unit. He enjoys tinkering to test and play with new tools and materials. He is in his late thirties.

Popper (off-site, runs his own crew) - Wetworks crew. Had a ‘falling’ out with Jonesi years back and they parted ways. Still some tensions, but Popper knows that Jonesi has his number.

Flagon (off-site, runs a bar) - Serves as the front for Jonesi’s current business of making people disappear.

The Plot

The Plan - Jonesi and the other heads of the family branches, and a few other key members have a plan. The details of this plan are heavily controlled and segmented. As the RP goes on Jonesi will slowly reveal bits and pieces of the plan that has been a century in the making, and it involves the entire family.

The Casuana Job - The Meson's are currently making a bid on the job to repair Keep Casuana after the fire. Part of this will be sabotaging the competition and/or protecting the Workshop and skaa from sabotage by rival houses.

The Family - With the recent executions on cycle 2 and day 1 several of the leading members of the family were killed. Jonesi is the only remaining family head in Luthadel. As Melthe, Jennis, and Airelan are dead and no longer able to provide protection for the family, Jonesi and Pipes are hiding them away and providing for them until new identities or arrangements can be provided.

The Workshop (post under construction)
The workshop is owned by the Meson family. A construction house that has long roots in Luthadel. They own several buildings throughout Luthadel, and have been on a steady rise since the Fall of Sureau in 893. The plumbing workshop serves a couple functions.
  • 24-hour plumbing and sewer maintenance - allows skaa in and out access to Luthadel
  • Raw construction materials storage - access to raw metals, refinement into allomantically pure metals is done off-site
  • More soon!
