Kler eyes show all of his emotion. No matter if he tries to hide it, his feelings show in his eyes. They also lose their focus when Kler is thinking about something.
He doesn't always think through what he says though, he just blurts out whatever is on his mind. He mumbles to himself a lot when working or just thinking, trying to contain this, but needing to vent and think out loud. People that spend a lot of time around him think it's kindof strange.
He is always eager to help and is very naive. He doesn't know what the implications of his or others actions will be. He will try to do his best to help out, though. Kler is very loyal and will help his friends with anything. He is loyal to a fault, he would stay loyal to someone no matter what he hears about them.
He is jumpy and gets scared easily. He is scared of many things, being in small, confined areas and horses, to name a few. Nobles are another of his fears, he cowers in front of any noble.
He is very trusting of skaa who are willing to help. He doesn't understand that appearance isn't everything, the wolf in sheep's clothing never made sense to him.
Strengths: Kler is a hard worker and is very loyal. Kler isn't good at fighting and hasn't had much experience but because of his height and weight can beat smaller opponents. Kler loves to make things with his hands. He is very curious.
Weaknesses: Kler is always blurting out things at inappropriate times, which has caused him a lot of trouble over the years. He also annoys people with all the questions he asks. He is clumsy and blunt. He is not great at discerning people's emotions. He is too trusting and tends to trust anyone who says they need his help or will help him.
His father is a slim but tall man. He is very hardworking but impatient. Prion, Kler's mother was heavier for a skaa, the daughter of a privileged baker, and very even tempered and mild. His mother had loved her baby son and she was the only one in his family, excepting his oldest brother, Klon, who treated him kindly.
Kler's oldest brother, Klon, is about five years older than Kler and always looked out for him because he felt bad for the way he was treated. Klon was always kind and sticking up for Kler in front of their father and other brother, not letting them beat him or stopping Kurt's mocking. Klon rarely was angry with Kler, taking much after their mother.
Kurt, the middle brother takes after their father, Rett. Kurt doesn't like Kler because sometimes siblings are annoying and he is a impatient person who can't stand Kler's distracting questions. Kler never got along with his second brother because his brother always thought Kler was an imbecile.
Kler is the third and youngest son of a family of all boys.
His mother and father argued many times over him, his father always wanting to beat some sense into him, but his mother calmly replying that he would hurt him too much to work. His mother usually won. Kler usually watched the arguments with fascination, thinking that his parents were arguing over who got him. As he matured, he realized that wasn't the case but still loved his father because he doesn't believe in giving up on family. Kler loves his family, no matter how they treat him. He would gladly do anything they needed to help. He doesn't care that Kurt doesn't like him, he just thinks that Kurt shows his love differently.
Kler was never remarkable to his father because he annoyed him with all his questions and though he tried hard, Kler was never good at being a tailor, he is not one for fine details but likes to hammer and do more blunt work. He tries his best at tailoring but he is not built for that, physically or mentally. He has the wide frame of his mother's family and is a blunt guy. He isn't meant to spend time in details of little needles and thread.
His mother died a year ago from a deadly illness and Kler was very sad, it crushed him emotionally. He wasn't able to do much work for a few days because he would break down too often. That was when the carriage incident happened and put him out of work even longer. He thinks of his mother very often.
Kler, the night after his mother died, was walking along the streets and was not paying any attention, just thinking about his mother, when a minor noble's driver was drunk and drove his carriage right over Kler, which broke multiple bones, including a shin, several ribs, and his left arm, and bruised him up badly. That was when Kler Snapped. It also caused his fear of nobles and horses. Rett was wealthy enough to afford a good enough doctor to mend Kler's bones but it took many months and Kler is now going back to work. This injury made Kurt more frustrated with Kler because he always had to bring Kler his food and whatever else he needed. Kler thought that Kurt wouldn't mind so much because he himself would willingly do that for any of his family.
His father is now getting old. Kler is the last of his brothers to move out, and his father began to believe it would never happen, because Kler is somewhat clumsy because of his wide figure, and not good with tailoring. He finally got involved with the rebellion and they offered him a position working in Darnam's shop. He only met the rebellion recently(as in cycle 1) and is very inexperienced. He is eager to help because after years of experience he doesn't believe that some people should be lucky to get a scrap of bread a week while others feast every meal.
Kler was thinking about his mother again. Her face. Her smile. Her happiness. He wished she hadn't died. Kler didn't understand why there were diseases like that. Why would The Lord Ruler let those happen? Maybe he just doesn't care. Kler dwelt on those thoughts about his mother. He walked the main streets near his home, just wanting to get out of his house and away from his father.
"Imbecile! Move!" a nobleman's carriage driver yelled to the unsuspecting Kler. He had drifted into traffic. Looking up the road, he realized the horses were right in front of him. He tried to jump off the street. By the time he moved, the horses were already on top of him. He screamed in agony as he was trampled. The driver stopped the horses too late to prevent them from stepping on the skaa. Walking over to Kler, he cursed under his breath.
"What do you think you were doing, skaa boy?"
Kler could smell the alcohol on the driver's breath. "I'm sorry. I didn't see and-"
"Pay more attention! You're going to get us both in trouble," the driver was not happy. They both knew he would get whipped or beat for hitting something.
The driver kicked Kler once for good measure, then walked back to the carriage.
"What's going on out there?" the angry noble yelled.
"N-Nothing, my lord. We hit a bump and I was just checking to make sure the wheels were okay," the driver nervously stated.
Kler wondered if the lord would realize that a bump couldn't hurt the wheels that badly. The driver didn't say anything more about the wheels. He apparently did not know anything about carriages. Lucky for Kler.
