The Lord Ruler's perfect capital city, Luthadel, is doing the impossible: rebelling. Skaa half-breeds are being taught the power of Allomancy, something that the Lord Ruler's obligators said only existed in the nobility. The enslaved skaa, with their murderous benefactor, now fight back against a living god's oppression.

So, the Inquisition was formed. The nobles begin to fear assassination from all sides. The times of nobility Mistborn killing each other are over. The Steel Inquisitors look for aristocrat traitors and insurgent skaa, and the skaa try with all their strength to merely survive. The Lord Ruler's perfect Final Empire is slowly devolving into chaos.

Tag Explanation: I used the W0, D0, and AS tags to indicate the lack of an entry needed in the continuity thread. AS means it takes place before Adonalsium's Shattering.

Now, on to the first parade of names! The characters in Set 1 are: Caedrus Ferrey, his twin sister Cassandolia, their younger brother Asharin, House Ladrian's Terris steward Shahwah, Lord Reen Ladrian, his twin sister Lady Kara, their estranged older brother Bartholemew, and his Kandra bodyguard TriSaa. Each will have their apps posted below as replies. Note that I will forewent the Characters Involved section of the tags because there'd be too many characters otherwise. All snippets are in 3rd-person, following Hoid's perspective. For the record, Hoid is Brandon's main Worldhopper, not a non-canon character.

Please don,t reply until after all apps and their shared snippet have been posted. The snippet itself will take place a year before the prologue to the RP does, or in 907 FE. FE = Final Empire. The appearance descriptions are in the snippet and between _underscores_ like those.

''The young man, Hoid observed, was about 5 feet 4 inches tall, with his lithe and healthy frame topped with a shock of auburn hair. His steely gray eyes and calm, collected, and self-assured demeanor gave the impression of nobility, yet his laborer's clothes dispelled that notion.''

Caedrus and Cassandolia were born in 899 FE, and could hardly be seperated for over ten minutes. They led uneventful lives until age eight, when they came home one day in 907 FE to discover that their father had dropped off a five-year-old boy who couldn't remember his past, along with a gift for each of the twins: two beads of metal each, with half of the total being the same material, while the other two were different materials. Each gift also came with a vial of two different metals, one of which was in both vials, and a set of instructions explaining what the metals do and are for, along with the compositions of the alloys involved.

After asking their mother, Reya, about it, they were told about the Cosmere as a whole, and explained that their father was a worldhopper who had brought her here from Roshar. She then gave the twins their staves, explained that they were from Roshar as well, and encouraged them to learn how to use them.

At the age of ten, Caedrus became fascinated with metallurgy, and became devoted to learning the craft. Then in 913 FE, some bandits who'd stolen part of an Atium shipment from House Venture to House Ladrian ran into the twins and the almost-9-years-old Asharin, or more accurately, the other way around. They managed to insert the Trellium slivers into the twins' arms and capture Asharin after knocking all three out.

When the twins woke up, they saw that House Ladrian guards had taken them to their local headquarters. Shahwah had aided in healing the twins, and interviewed them about what happened. On learning that they'd been out for a day, Shahwah sent a messenger to their house, with a reply coming that Asharin was still missing.

On hearing this, the twins vowed to rescue their adopted brother, insisted on helping capture the bandits, and set off with the guards. It became clear when they reached the spot the twins had been found at that Asharin had managed to leave a trail of oddly-colored ash leading to the bandits' location.

The only warning the bandits got that they'd been found was the door being crashed down, which was drowned out by the twins' swearing of the First Ideal of the Knights Radiant from Roshar. It became apparent that Asharin had escaped on his own with a pitch-black sword and its sheath in hand. The bandits gave up when Cassandolia's Flared-Duralumin-boosted Nicroburst amplified how much Caedrus' Duralumin empowered his Chromium to the point that all Allomancers on the block were drained, causing much confusion in a nearby Inquisition Soothing post.

Shahwah promised to help find Asharin, that he'd attempt to convince his master to help Caedrus start his business as a metallurgist, and that the Ferreys could eventually meet the Ladrians. As it turned out, Asharin had regained his memories and made his way home with the help of Hoid.

Also, I'll put the personalities and skills in terms of D&D 5e in order to provide a quick overview of their personality and a general comparison to average abilities, as well as the ability scores for the same reason. For the record, 10 is average ability level, with a modifier of +0. Skills listed higher than the modifier for the ability are ones with proficiency, and assume an additional bonus of +2. Only Savants may have any score above 20 unless they're the Lord Ruler, a 1st-generation Kandra, a Worldhopper, or a Shard of Adonalsium; only Shards of Adonalsium may have scores above 30.

I'll post a seperate topic soon explaining the D&D ability system for purposes of character apps. Please don't respond to that topic until I've finished it. Thank you.

For the record, PM me if you think a D&D-esque sub-RP set in MBI is a great idea.

There's Caedrus' app. Again, all my OCs will share the same snippet, told in 3rd person and following Hoid. Please PM me with questions. Suffice it to say that Hoid isn't the first Worldhopper Asharin's met.
Cassandolia's snippet tomorrow.

Thank-you Abraxis. I will try to review this soon. In the meantime, could you edit your initial post and topic title so the application is in the first post and the topic title is the character name? We have a pretty standard format and process for character applications.

Inventory update: Caedrus also has a set of alchemist's tools at home.

Thanks, Comatose, but the character set is incomplete. I'm still working o Cassandolia's app right now. I might be able to get Asharin's in today.

Bleeping wifi!

On a different subject, this topic wil eventuall contain my first 8 characters' apps, so renaming it after Caedrus won't work.

Finally, please use 'AGM' to talk about me when typing. 'Abe' and 'Mac' also work.

Hi Abraxas, and welcome!

You may have missed it, but our FAQ very clearly states that we do not use numbers, stats, or any sort of modifiers in this RP. We are narrative-based only here:

There's no system, skill points, or dice that we use here. This site is really about interactive storytelling, and we feel it can bog down the story to have dice or skill points. In addition, keeping track of these numbers would be a heavy burden. Such things work better on a tabletop RPG than a forum-wide RP.

As such, please remove all references to the PHB/D20SRD in your apps. Once you have, we'll take a further look at your characters. I'll be posting this reply in your other threads to make sure you and the other staffers see it. Thanks!
