The Lord Ruler's perfect capital city, Luthadel, is doing the impossible: rebelling. Skaa half-breeds are being taught the power of Allomancy, something that the Lord Ruler's obligators said only existed in the nobility. The enslaved skaa, with their murderous benefactor, now fight back against a living god's oppression.

So, the Inquisition was formed. The nobles begin to fear assassination from all sides. The times of nobility Mistborn killing each other are over. The Steel Inquisitors look for aristocrat traitors and insurgent skaa, and the skaa try with all their strength to merely survive. The Lord Ruler's perfect Final Empire is slowly devolving into chaos.

Name: Jansten Landell
Gender: Male
Pertinent Information: Jansten is Tamsin's father, and the Lord of House Landell. He is about 57 years old, and rather overweight, with receding salt-and-pepper hair, beetling black brows, impressive sideburns and a prominent nose; he does not much resemble his daughter, who takes after her mother instead. He has a crabby temper that worsens with an attack of the painful gout he suffers from, but he is able to hold it in when necessary (in other words, principally when it is not safe to cut loose). Jansten is generally acknowledged to be a very fair and honest man, with a solid core of common sense. He is also fiercely protective of his daughter.
