Nadia returned to Ahlstrom square. She hadn't been back since her encounter with Gervais and his cheerful nutcase consort. The strange woman had made Nadia uncomfortable, and she had decided to stay away from the square for a while to avoid running into the red-headed wannabe. Then, she had realized what a coward she was being. Ahlstrom square was often frequented by selfish ignorant nobles, and if she was going to get her message out, Nadia knew she couldn't avoid the place entirely. She could not let some annoying chatter-box get in the way of her ambitions.

Her artwork had been removed. Likely scrubbed away by skaa hands. It didn't matter. People thought they could silence her by wiping things a way or ignoring her. They were wrong. Art was about the moment, and every person who scrubbed at something she'd vandalized had to stare at whatever it was for long enough to remove it. To connect her message to even one person in such a way was worth it.

Kneeling, Nadia set her bag on the ground and removed a rolled up piece of cloth. Unrolling it, she revealed today's weapons of choice: colored chalk. Chalk was easy to wipe away, but for her plan today it was just what she needed.

Setting up, Nadia selected the first piece of chalk and began to draw on the square itself.

Sabine’s senses were on hyper absorption, she had never seen such a magical place. The buildings were larger than five of her own home, and there were more people in a small area than she had ever seen in her entire life. The beaches along her home occasionally drew a crowd, but this one put them to shame. She couldn’t seem to see it all or enough of it.

“Wow,” she breathed, her attention caught by another young woman who had a determined look on her face and a piece of chalk in her hand. When the other girl began to draw, Sabine couldn’t help but walk toward her, not disguising the fact that she was fascinated by what the stranger wad doing. She glanced at her companion, an escort from her cousin’s house; it was insisted that Sabine not go out alone since Tamsin was busy with her father’s business.

The last thing Sabine was was shy, so she began to talk, her tone friendly and full of admiration, “That’s so beautiful. I’ve never seen anything like it.” She smiled, “Forgive me, I’m Sabine Vesta and I couldn’t help but admire how bold you are to paint in the town square and how wonderfully you draw. The colors are chosen quite well.” She smiled again, “I suppose grand things like this happen all the time around here and you must think me a country girl. The truth is, I am. The city is quite new to me.”

Nadia was happily defacing Ahlstrom Square with all the verve and energy she could muster. This time around, she was trying her best to be artistic, making her patterns beautiful. The point, of course, was that her defacing of the square would be the most beautiful thing in it. It was also a powerful symbol, representing the way the nobility ruined everything truly beautiful by tramping all over it in their haste to complete 'important' tasks.

Nadia's progress was intruded by a foot in her way and a voice. Slowly, she looked up to behold a noblewoman about her age extending a warm greeting. Nadia smirked. The woman was obviously quite new in town, otherwise she would have known not to bother her.

Nadia rose to her knees, batted her eyelashes, and gave her best vapid smile. "I'm Lady Nadia Sureau. And yes, from that House Sureau. The crazy ones who think they rule Luthaadel. You have the pleasure of addressing the sanest member of the family. Congratulations."

Nadia turned back to her work, and began to shuffle around on her hands and knees. "As for grand or wonderful things, if you are looking for those, I'm afraid Luthadel is the last possible place you are going to find them. This city is a rotten heap of corruption and insanity. If you still think otherwise, then that's what proves you are a complete and utter bumpkin. Learn to fake happiness while hating your life and being a complete and utter hypocrite and you'll fit right in here."
