So, the Inquisition was formed. The nobles begin to fear assassination from all sides. The times of nobility Mistborn killing each other are over. Appearance: Tall and slender, at about 6'1”, Sebastien carries himself with the poise and confidence expected of a young lord of his station. He has fine features, clear, bright blue eyes, and longish, curly brown hair, which he takes great efforts to keep neat and presentable at all times. He likes to dress in finely tailored suits of the best quality, choosing rich fabrics and flattering colors over the plainer suits his father prefers. His presence is not particularly dominating or commanding; instead, he has an air of friendliness about him that makes him approachable and easy to work with.

Special Skills: Administration, a keen mind for mathematics and finance, and good people skills. Also a skilled dancer. Decent at recreational dueling, but his skill is unremarkable.
Strengths: Sebastien's friendly and courteous nature make him a natural at forming bonds and making connections, as well as winning over potential business associates in meetings. In addition, he is learning business and administration very well from his father, making him a promising young heir. He is intelligent and well-read, and can carry on a conversation with almost anyone.
Weaknesses: While Sebastien has great interpersonal and administration skills, his abilities in the political field are rather lacking. While he can follow certain happenings and rumors, some of the subtler undercurrents slip right past him unnoticed. He is also not very capable of defending himself, as he lacks any Allomantic ability and isn't the most skilled of fighters to begin with.

Personality: On the outside, Sebastien Perrault is something close to the ideal young heir: he is courteous, even charming at times, with a friendly and relatable nature that helps him form bonds and connections quickly, both in and out of the boardroom. Ever the obedient son, he conducts himself with the poise and propriety expected of the heir of a major house – with, perhaps, the one exception of his association with Rodolphe Pascal, though that depends entirely on whose opinion one were to ask.

Behind the courtesy and business dealings, though, Sebastien is a dreamer and a romantic at heart, always yearning for some greater excitement or deeper purpose to his life. Though he doesn't often show it, he is frustrated at being stuck in some sort of limbo between the responsibilities he has to his house as heir and the exciting, adventurous life he wishes he could have.

History: Sebastien is the first and only child of Lord Mainfred and Lady Deline Perrault, born in the year 898 in his family's manor outside Luthadel. As the only son of the Lord of the house, he has been the legal heir to the house title since his birth, and stands to inherit upon his father's death or retirement. As such, his upbringing has been the best his family could afford: he was given the best education, lavish affection from his parents, and a life filled with comfort and plenty.

As much as he was doted upon, though, Sebastien has always been expected to excel at his efforts. From his studies to his time learning the family business at his father's side, he gave nothing less than his best, if only because that was what he was told to do.

He had learned all about Allomancers, of course, and as his tenth birthday – and the Snapping that would accompany it – grew closer, he found that he couldn't contain his excitement. Oh, he was terrified of the test itself – everyone knew that the customary beatings were brutal – but the rewards would be rich. Would he Snap? What sort of Allomancer would he be? A Pewterarm, able to withstand the toughest of blows and deal them out in turn? A Coinshot, able to take out enemies from a distance and soar high above the towers of Luthadel? Or perhaps even one of the mythic Mistborn, the most deadly and fearsome assassins in all the Empire? By the time he was taken for his test, he was practically bouncing up and down with excitement to find out.

The beating went on for what felt like an eternity, but at long last it was called to a disappointing halt. Sebastien had failed to Snap.

Suddenly, the world seemed a lot less interesting to young Sebastien. No daring adventures awaited him, no Allomantic training or secret nights out in the mists. He was normal, just like his parents, and his life would be filled with normal things. Oh, the family business was interesting enough, he supposed – as interesting as business can be to the average ten-year-old, anyways – but now, after his high hopes and subsequent letdown over his failed Snapping, the thought of finances, business meetings, and rubbing elbows as his entire life felt dreadfully dull.

Not that there was much he could do about it, of course. He was the heir, after all, and only ten years old at that; it wasn't like he could just wander out into the mists looking for trouble. He did the best he could to find at least a little excitement, but his few daring attempts at adventure failed miserably. He tried to climb the garden wall, hoping to balance along the top of it, and got stuck. He had to wait a terrifying half hour for the groundskeepers to find a ladder that would let them reach him and get him down. He tried to play hide-and-seek with his cousins in the manor, but missed the call for dinner and was scolded for disappearing. He tried to read adventure stories, but his father told him that such frivolities were a waste of time and would rot his brain.

As he grew older, these forays into the realm of adventure grew more and more infrequent as he matured and his responsibilities to the house increased, but even though that little voice in the back of his head that begs for adventure has never quite gone away, the most “excitement” he has in his life comes from his best friend, Rodolphe Pascal. A notorious flirt with a fondness for fine wine and a bit of a taste for gambling, Rodolphe's habits are almost the complete opposite of the well-behaved Sebastiens. And though Sebastien himself swears up and down that this isn't the case, there are those among Sebastien's friends and acquaintances who would not be surprised to learn that one of his primary reasons for spending time with Rodolphe is to live vicariously through the more daring man's exploits.

Currently, Sebastien is living his life much as he always has: acting the proper heir, going to the appropriate social functions for a young lord of his station, and wishing all the while there were something more.
