Skaa half-breeds are being taught the power of Allomancy, something that the Lord Ruler's obligators said only existed in the nobility. The enslaved skaa, with their murderous benefactor, now fight back against a living god's oppression.

So, the Inquisition was formed. The nobles begin to fear assassination from all sides. The times of nobility Mistborn killing each other are over. The Steel Inquisitors look for aristocrat traitors and insurgent skaa, and the skaa try with all their strength to merely survive. Inquisition Notes

Home & Wealth
Current Location: Tremedare
Ancestral Home: Tremredare, Western Dominance
Financial Avenue: House Devinshae is heavily invested in the hospitality industry, running hotels and inns throughout the Western and Central Dominances. While recent years have been good to the Devinshaes, their reach is no where near what it once was during their glory days, they have recently reached a level of stability not seen in some time. They had even began expanding into the Farmost Dominance before the rebellion there forced them to pull out. Despite their success, continued dominance by the Elariels prevents them from ever regaining the full extent of their former wealth and power

Major Houses
-Elariel - [Ally] - Vassal House: House Elariel sponsored House Devinshae when it was near collapse and financed it's return to power. The Elariels take a cut of everything the Devinshaes earn, and, until recently, the Devinshaes have proven to be loyal vassals. Since Lady Devinshae's attempt one year ago to assert her house's independence, she and her retinue have been sent back to Tremredare, and her heir, Chella Devinshae, remains a permanent 'guest' of the Elariels.
-Sureau - [Enemy] - House Sureau participated in House Devinshae's fall years ago, and House Devinshae has mainained a grudge against them since that only Elariel's neutrality policy and Sureaus power prevents them from acting on.

Minor Houses
-Habren - [Ally] House Devinshae is allied with most of House Elariel's major allies. House Habren is one of these.
-Patreson - [Ally] - House Devinshae is allied with most of House Elariel's major allies. House Patreson is one of these, and is also one of the High Houses of the Western Dominance
-Bellemont - [Ally] House Bellemont is another one of House Elariel's vassals, and thus, while they are political rivals of House Devinshae for House Elariel's favour, the two are forced to share an alliance and will not disrupt each other's economic growth.
-Pomeroy - [Ally] House Pomeroy is another one of House Elariel's vassals, and thus, while they are political rivals of House Devinshae for House Elariel's favour, the two are forced to share an alliance and will not disrupt each other's economic growth.
-Hathaway - [Ally] House Hathaway is one of House Elariel's staunchest supporters in the western dominance and is prominent among the Tremredare High Houses. Too powerful to be a rival of House Devinshae, their closeness with House Elariel makes them a natural ally.
-Aurelian - [Negative] House Devinshae is bound by the social and political sanctions House Elariel placed on House Aurelian years ago, and thus cannot become close to them.
-Ellesmere - [Negative] House Ellesmere and Devinshae attempted ascension at the same time, and when Devinshae fell, Ellesmere was not kind to them, using their fall as an opportunity for advancement. While there has not been any real further conflict or contact between the two houses in the last two hundred years, there are still bad feelings there.
-Seeris - [Enemy] House Seeris's negative relationship with Elariel is reflected in it's diplomacy with House Devinshae.
-Hassau - [Enemy] No House who hopes to work with House Elariel can have anything to do with House Hassau. As such, the Devinshae's try their best to avoid them in all aspects of life.

HOUSE ELARIEL: House Devinshae gives House Elariel a percentage of all its profits in perpetuity as repayment for Elariel aid during a time where financial and political collapse seemed imminent. Though House Devinshae has recovered in the years since, House Elariel still insists that payments are made and that the contract continues. Recently, in an effort to discourage dissention, House Elariel has insisted that Lady Marian Devinshae remain in Tremredare with her retinue, and that her heir apparent, Chella Devinshae, remain a 'guest' of House Elariel.

Governance & Customs
House Devinshae is a standard one-business house, though Marian Devinshae tends to take a more active hand in all day to day house dealings than most heads, for the most part House Governance follows the usual model. One major difference is that, because of House Devinshae's focus on the hospitality industry, they own hotels and inns throughout the empire that often dwell as offices and bases for ambassadors sent out to different regions to hunt down new contracts. Their business also allows them to have a much larger geographic reach than their wealth and political status would otherwise allow.

House Devinshae was once a great House, however following damages recieved from the rebellion that caused the massacre of Tougier in 731, Devinshae began to weaken, and under pressure from House Sureau, eventually fell. They were saved from destruction by loans and support from a House Elariel, a fellow western house that was beginning to rise in power. Since this time, Devinshae has become one of the vassal houses to House Elariel, and supports the great houses mercantile empire by giving them a cut of all their profits.

Recently, Lady Marian Devinshae attempted to assert her houses independance from the oppressive Elariel contract. In retaliation, House Elariel sent a mistborn to murder her heir, sent her back to Tremredare, and kept her daughter and heir apparent, Chella, as a permanent guest.
