The Lord Ruler's perfect capital city, Luthadel, is doing the impossible: rebelling. Skaa half-breeds are being taught the power of Allomancy, something that the Lord Ruler's obligators said only existed in the nobility. The enslaved skaa, with their murderous benefactor, now fight back against a living god's oppression.

So, the Inquisition was formed. The nobles begin to fear assassination from all sides. The times of nobility Mistborn killing each other are over. The Steel Inquisitors look for aristocrat traitors and insurgent skaa, and the skaa try with all their strength to merely survive. The Lord Ruler's perfect Final Empire is slowly devolving into chaos.

So as some of the people on this board know, I work some construction and building repairs part-time.

So I was working on an old store front today, painting the walls to make the place look fresher so that a real estate agent might have a chance at renting out this store front.

Anyways, earlier in the day some people came by to take a look at the space, and also decided to take a look in the basement space. Now here's the thing, the door to the basement is in the floor of the bathroom with a steep staircase. This building is 1906 era built in the years following the massive 1906 earthquake in the San Francisco Bay Area. Therefore it is exempt from ADA compliance and is not required to have many of the 'standard' safety features that accompany modern buildings.

While they were looking at the basement I was busy elsewhere in the space painting and cleaning. I finish painting and I make my way to the bathroom so that I can wash out the excess paint from the paint brushes, the pan, paint roller, and paint brush all held out in front of me. I step through the threshold and ...I'm at the bottom of the stairs...

I'm fine, I've been falling from things more often than I care to admit. I skinned by back in a small area where my back scrapped against the stairs, and I landed on my feet for the most part. And after four hours now I have 98% usage of my back and am only mildly tender when I stretch a certain way.

Anyways...the point is...who here can honestly say that they've fallen through a trapdoor in a bathroom. Now I can.

Posted for the board's amusement.

Hey Waxlux, I sent you a personal message. You can see it by clicking on the little envelope in the top right hand part of your screen. There should be a red notification flag beside it, since I just sent you something. Reply there and let me know what you need help with, instead of posting in old threads.
